“Steakhouse Meal in your own home” menu coming soon!

Create your own steakhouse meal in the comforts of your kitchen with this menu. Just add a glass of Cabernet and you will be set for a fabulous night in! This delicious menu will include: Romaine Salad with a Parmesan-Tahini Dressing (Caesar-like) and a Parmesan Crisp; Beef Tenderloin with a Peppercorn-Cognac Sauce; Baked Potato Wedges; and Spiced Pear Cake for the perfect fall treat!

Dates for the new menu will be posted Monday morning – October 2nd. This new class will run October 31 until December 7 on select dates. This week I am taking reservations for private groups of 8.
Please visit my website October 2 to see available October-December dates.

The price of the classes this year have gone up by $5 to $65 to reflect the rising costs at the grocery store. And as always, a portion of your payment will help feed the hungry in our community.

If you are interested in taking this class with several friends, please respond early next week, and I will make every effort to get you into the class together. As always, please try to give a couple of date choices when making your request.

Also, if you want to book this class for a private group of 8 please contact me by Friday.
And remember, if you want to reply to me do not hit reply, email me directly at amy@cookingwithcare.com.

When your cooking teacher has an epic fail…

Thought I would share my epic fail and recovery for a little comic relief this holiday weekend. When my bundt cake stuck, I came close to trashing it or turning it into a trifle, but instead I trimmed it and flipped it then added a little tequila to my lime glaze. Just sharing a little example of turning limes into limeade.

No recipe for the key lime cake, obvious fail, but the glaze is 1 heaping cup of confectioner’s sugar, zest of 1 lime, mixed with 2 tablespoons of key lime juice and 1 tablespoon of silver tequila.

Happy Labor Day weekend,
Amy
